- Pär Hulkoff (born August 25, 1980 as Pär Kankanranta in Karungi) is a Swedish musician and singer in the genres Metal and Country. Since 2008 he is the frontman of the band Predator and since 2017 head of the project Hulkoff.
Life
Hulkoff was born in 1980 in Karungi and has a brother. In 1989 he was given a guitar, attended the municipal music school for six months, and soon began to write songs. At the school in Karungi he founded his first band with another guitarist and a drummer, followed by more at the high school in Haparanda. Later he played in the band Hunter Killer, which broke up after three appearances. Around the turn of the millennium, Hulkoff played guitar in the Belgian progressive metal band Karyan, in 2001 for the Swedish power metal band The Storyteller as Pärka Kankanranta. From 2002 to 2004 he was lead guitarist of the power metal band Viperine, in which also played Mathias Lind. The band released in addition to a demo recording with three pieces only the album The Predator Awakens. Already here Hulkoff wrote texts with similar references as later with predator and sang occasionally.
In 2002 he was lead guitarist of power metal band Winterlong, in which Thorbjörn Englund was bassist and later singer. Englund later played bass with Predator. From 2005 Hulkoff played as Payre Hulkoffgarden guitar at nuclear power. In 2008, Hulkoff founded the band Predator with drummer Mathias Lind, with whom he had previously played with Viperine. In this band he is a guitarist, keyboardist and singer. In the video for Sveriges Elit Hulkoff took over direction and production.
With the band Predator and the Scar Symmetry bassist Kenneth Rope, he has also been making the country project Bourbon Boys since 2012. His existing since 2017 project Hulkoff exists next to him from Anders Johansson and his son Niklas. The group has so far released four singles and the album Kven, which were mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren. The recordings also feature Russian violinist Misha Talanov. In contrast to the lyrics of predators, the group's are all in English.
Hulkoff is married and was an infantryman of the Swedish army. He goes hunting, mainly with the bow, runs a small hunting business and is owner of sled dogs.

Hulkoff writes the lyrics for all his groups. His texts often deal with military, mythological and apocalyptic topics. This often describes a militarized image of honor, masculinity and freedom. Also, excessive alcohol consumption is often discussed. Other motives are violent hatred and revenge. In addition, many of his texts deal with the current zeitgeist, with Hulkoff other relying on huntsman motives to represent the rural life in the city as better.
